Cardiac calcium scoring uses a special X-ray called a computed tomography scan (CT scan) to detect the buildup of calcium on the walls of the arteries of the heart. Because calcium in the coronary arteries is an indication of possible coronary artery disease, this test can identify heart disease in its early stages and help determine its severity.
All of our physicians are up to date with this latest testing trend. They will help you understand your score and guide you through the steps to compile information and complete your diagnosis to ensure proper treatment.
